January Stitch Fix!

Hi Everyone!
Eventually I'll stop apologizing for having my blog posts so far and few between. My goal is to one day have a blog but with getting a Masters it makes sitting down and cutting out time to write a post difficult for me.
Anyway! You guys know by now that I am addicted to subscription boxes! I love them! However, this year I've tried to scale back on how many I have because I'd rather the money go towards my first ever Disneyland annual pass! I am so excited about that! Let's get started!

My Stitch Fix comes every 3 months. Stitch Fix is a shopping subscription that selects clothes for you based on your profile and sends 5 items to you based on your preferred frequency. Having an already full closet I chose every 3 months.

This is my preview of what I got this month! I love color and pattern and I can already tell my stylist hit it out of the park! (It helps that you know your stylist for sure)

First up was this beautiful blush colored Daniel Rainn Lipson Pleated Back Knit Top. I loved this top! I loved the color (sorry for poor lighting) and the beautiful polka-dot accents. I wanted this shirt to be a keeper! I could wear it to work or casually with jeans on the weekend but.... wait for it...
I could not get past the LITERAL bubble butt! I couldn't handle the side angle. My dad even called it a diaper. So I returned it reluctantly.
The second item I got was the dark purple Kaileigh Lieberman Lace Inset Blouse. I love this blouse! I love the lace detail and the color! Keeper!

Third item was a sheer navy floral print Skies are Blue Mayven V-neck Blouse. I love the floral print on this shirt! Definite keeper! I cannot wait for spring to get here so I can wear it!

Fourth item was the beautiful grey floral Margaret M Eudora Kint Dress. I loved this dress! The cut and fit was cute and different. I loved the straps and the elastic waist. However, it hugged my hips and my stomach too much for me to see myself wearing it. And my boyfriend said he didn't like it. So I also returned it reluctantly.

The last item was a beautiful purple statement necklace from Romolo, the Cami Stone Bib Necklace. I love gold jewelry and anything that sparkles. Keep!
I loved this month's Stitch Fix! My stylist hit it out of the park even though I returned two items. It was the first time I returned items which made me a little sad. I can't wait for my birthday fix to come in April!

October Boxes!

Hi guys!
I'm drowning in a new school year for both my kiddos and me! My Masters program is challenging and inspiring (I'm getting a masters in STEM education). This year a fellow teacher and I are dedicated to use a Common Core aligned curriculum that our district has given us but has not adopted yet as well as learning a new math curriculum the district has adopted. I also wouldn't say I've done a lot of impressive things related to school but there are some fun projects I'll share that may inspire anyone implementing Journeys into their classroom. More on those later!

I thought I'd do a quick nutshell run down of my subscription boxes for October! I am addicted to subscription boxes!
Let's get started!

First is ipsy!
(sorry for the sideways pictures. I'll work on that in the future.)
Theme is Black Magic!
I love the pearly pink Halloween icon bag!

 This eye shadow is gorgeous!
I am not a fan of waterproof but I love the applicator on this and what to try it!
I love this lip balm! I wear it at night (as suggested) and my lips feel moisturized every morning!
Haven't tried this one yet! Hahaha! I wish there were tips on how to use some of the products in the bag. I think this is a moisturizing gel for the face.
I love the lip color of this crayon! Perfect for fall!
I love ipsy! It is super fun and I get to try new products that I normally would not try! For only $10 including shipping!

Next up: STITCH FIX
FIRST! MY GORGEOUS BUNDLE!
I love this shirt! The color is beautiful and the material is so soft! The texture if fantastic!
Loving this vest! It is so warm and comfortable!
 This scarf is just beautiful!
I love this shirt! It is longer in the back but very flattering.

This shirt is so soft! I loved the suede elbow patches! Unfortunately there was a hole in the back and they did not have an exchange for me. :( they did reimburse me for the price of the shirt.
My stylist is Erika! She's fantastic and hits it on the nail every single time! I love this fall box!  Can't wait for my next one!

Stitch Fix #4: Back To School!

Hi Teacher Friends!
This blog post is going to be about my fourth Fix I received last week!
Stitch Fix is a subscription box that allows a stylist to select 5 articles of clothing including purses, jewelry and shoes for you based on a profile you fill out. You can receive a box as frequently or as less frequently as you like!

I love Stitch Fix! It is so fun receiving new clothes from a personal stylist. I am part of the less frequently group because the money is a little more than I usually spend on clothing. My stylist is actually a church friend and I love that she understands me on a personal level. She is probably the reason I have loved every box so far! Ok so let me show you what she picked out for me:

First all boxes come beautifully packaged with a note written from the stylist about what she picked out for you as well as style cards and a break down sheet of what it cost for each article. You can also ask for articles of clothing that you want! Many ladies have "unicorns" that they are in search for. I am a memeber of the Stitch Fix group on Facebook and it is great to see what other ladies receive in their fixes! They also sell clothing they do not want! For this Fix I requested a Back to School box! Behold, my first week of work outfits!

#1: Papermoon Genoveve Scoop Neck Blouse
I love this blouse! It fit my hips perfectly and I loved the pattern. The shirt was a little big in the arm holes but I knew that if I sized down (you can exchange!) it would not fit my hips! This shirt is a keeper! I love how I can dress it up for work and dress it down for a weekend look!
This shirt is a large and was $44. (for someone that doesn't pay over 20 for anything and I mean anything, this box allows me to spoil myself!)

#2: Collective Concepts Korie Tie Neck Blouse $37 size large

I love this shirt too! The color is very bright and the texture on it is darling! This shirt is sheer and needs a tank top or cami underneath. It is a little big in the sides but I think it still looks great! The armholes are the perfect size. The only thing that had me on the fence was that it was dry clean. I do not do dry clean but my lovely stylist mentioned something about dry cleaner bags that I could use at home so I am keeping the shirt! It'll be a perfect shirt for the transition from summer to fall in the Central Valley in California (aka for one week) It is very light and I'm excited to wear it before that week comes.

#3 Skies are Blue Rodriguez Embroidered Top $37 size large

This is my FAVORITE  shirt in the box! I loved the color and embroidery! I also loved the crocheted keyhole back! This shirt was just perfect I did not want to take it off! The armholes were actually perfect if not a little two small but I am in love with this shirt!

#4 Market & Spruce Brackley Henley Knit Tank $54 size large

I asked my stylist for a teal shirt because my school colors are teal and black. I even asked for a shark print shirt but no luck there! hahaha This shirt is perfect! I love the parttern and that the colors match my school colors perfectly! It has buttons on the front. I have already decided this is going to be my first day of school shirt! The material is very soft and the arm holes are perfect!

#5 Gilli Beheny V-neck Knit Maxi Dress $78 size Petite Medium

This was my second FAVORITE item in my box! This dress is beautiful and felt amazing! As well as made me feel amazing! I love the pattern of the skirt and how it is NOT see through! There is plenty of coverage in this dress! I added a cami for added coverage. The petite size was perfect because the dress was the perfect length for me. I'm 5'3 so most long dresses are long on me and need to be hemmed. I love where the navy blue knit top hits my waist! I feel and look fantastic in this dress! I did not want to take it off! The skirt was very flowy.

There you have it! My 4th Fix was fantastic! The great thing about loving all 5 pieces is that I was able to get a 25% discount on each item as well as have the 20$ styling fee given as credit for buying something from this box. I got my box for under $200!  Which is a lot but it feels good to have quality clothes that fit and make me feel beautiful!

My next box comes in October!
Check out my Pinterest page here: https://www.pinterest.com/curlysimba/stitch-fix/
And if you want to give it a look click on my referral code!

And my stylist's name is Erika Loach if you want to request her! She is so sweet! She looks at my Pinterest board and listens to my notes!

Hope you enjoyed my Fix!

My #1 Social Media Weakness: Giveaways!

Hi Friends!

Look I'm doing a post within a week of my last one! Moving in the right direction for sure!

I wanted to do a post real quick about something you will probably learn about me very quickly whether you follow me on Instagram or Twitter is that I LOVE Giveaways!
And I will participate in them shamelessly and I think you should too!

Giveaways that I love include anything related to Disney, books, and teaching.
However, I will not tag friends unless I have their permission to tag them because I don't really want to be known as that person. So if you want to give me permission to tag you please let me know in the comments below! I am giving you complete permission to tag me in giveaways in return!

So to celebrate my love of giveaways I wanted to give a shout out to It All Started with Flubber - @itallstartedwithflubber who just had an awesome giveaway to celebrate the launch of their blog!
I am so grateful for teachers that want to pour into other teachers! This giveaway was fantastic and I just want to thank them for the blessing of the Amazon gift card that will go towards my classroom as summer comes to a close. One day I hope to pour into teachers like all of you pour into me and other beginning teachers!

Again, thank you It All Started with Flubber for the  giveaway! I look forward to participating in may more of your giveaways as well as watch your blog journey!

Have a great week friends! Give them a follow!

Plans for this Summer!

Hi Teacher Friends!

I'm really really working on getting my blog up and running for this year so I'm taking baby steps to get there!

My name is Sarah and I teach 4th grade in California! I am starting my third year. This fall I am going back to school for a Masters in STEM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Science) and I am excited about it! Since this is the first post I've done since I started this blog just some quick facts about me.
I love dark chocolate, tea and anything Disney!
I am a a super nerd.
I love reading especially along the lines of fantasy and mythology.
Currently I am addicted to subscription boxes that include Stitch Fix, Fandom of the Month Club, Owlcrate, LitCube, CMYFabrik, Once Upon a Book Case and I just started ipsy! Part of my blog will be dedicated to those boxes to add some variety!
Some of my hobbies include reading, travel, sewing, crocheting, and spending time with friends and families.
I also love card games.
I just started sewing and I am hoping my schedule will include time for me to sew while I am getting my Masters.
I also teach Children's Church at my church on Sundays.

Along with my blog, I've different social media handles that will be connected to this blog. In fact, I think I had them before I had the blog... Anyway!
Instagram: @circleofteacherlife
Twitter: @circleteachlife
Facebook: Circle of Teacher Life page.

Check them out! Let's connect! I love following teacher friends!

I do not currently have a Teachers Pay Teachers handle but I probably will Summer of '17 just so I do not commit to too many things while I'm going back to school.

Now I want to talk about my plans for summer!
So far these are the things that I have done! ( School has been out since June 8)
1. Took church kids to Church Camp
2. Started my first Master's Course
3. Read Apollo: The Hidden Oracle
4. Sewed pillowcases (everyone gets a pillowcase!)
5. Worked in my classroom (still need more work)
6. Went to a baseball game for the 4th of July
7. Went on a teacher team bonding trip to Santa Cruz! (Love my grade level team!)

These are my plans for the next 4 weeks! We go back August 10th (but trainings start the 1st)
1. Trip to Universal! (Harry Potter Land)
2. Family Trip to Disneyland! (Last one before the 60th Celebration decorations come down)
3. Work in my classroom!
4. Trip to Santa Clarita
5. Create Homeworkopoly for my classroom!
6. Perfect my Dojo Store (Class Dojo)
7. Start Lesson Planning
8. Read more books (Winter, Red Queen, The Heir, The Glass Sword, The BFG are currently my goals)
9. Sewing projects (more pillowcases....)
10. Clean/Organize (Room, desk, laptop, phone.... my life... etc)
11. Visible Learning/Thinking training

As you can see... there are more things to do than not. Hahaha! I'll let you know how those goals go when school starts!
What do you guys still have to do this summer?
Some future posts to watch for (and that I'm holding myself too):
1. My 4th Back to School Stitch Fix comes the 14th of July!
2. Owlcrate/LitCubes/ipsy/FOTMC boxes from June and July
3. My Universal/Disney trips!
4. Short blurbs about my trainings! (New math adoption, tech camp, Kagan and Visible learning)
5. Classroom reveal for the 16-17 school year
6. Things I make for my classroom!

Wow! I'm excited to pursue my blogging journey! It's good to know that there are posts to be excited about!
